The weaning journey

A clear 5-week path from first tastes to proper food.

Each week builds carefully on the last, so you are not left wondering what to introduce next, how to progress textures, or whether your baby is getting enough variety.

Jo Lenz, V&Me dietitian

Planned with our dietitian Jo Lenz, so textures, allergens and variety are introduced in a sequence that makes sense.

Week 1 · Days 1–7 7 pairings

First Tastes

Single vegetables, pure and simple

We start with single vegetable purées so your baby can meet clear, simple flavours early. Each purée is paired with a matching finger food, so they can explore texture and self-feeding from day one.

Example day

Broccoli purée + broccoli finger food

Week 2 · Days 8–14 7 pairings

First Allergen

Egg introduced with familiar foods

Week two introduces egg while keeping the rest of the meal familiar. This helps you move forward without having to work out the allergen sequence alone.

02

Example day

Sweet potato & egg purée + roasted red pepper finger food

Why this matters: Allergens can feel intimidating. The kit gives you a clear sequence, so you know what is being introduced and when.

Week 3 · Days 15–21 7 pairings

Protein & Texture

More substance, more texture

Proteins arrive this week, and textures begin to step up. Your baby starts encountering a wider range of flavours and learning that food can feel different, not just taste different.

Protein Egg continued Chunkier textures
03

Example day

Lamb & potato purée + kiwi finger food

Why this matters: Iron-rich foods become increasingly important around this stage, but parents often struggle to know how to introduce them in baby-friendly ways.

Weeks 4 & 5 · Days 22–35 14 pairings

Full Palate

Bolder flavours and wider variety

New combinations, more substantial textures, fish, grains, legumes and continued allergen reinforcement. By day 35, your baby has met a remarkable range of foods — without you planning every step.

Questions parents ask us

The things you may be wondering before you start.

The full day-by-day menu is shared once your kit is confirmed. It covers key allergens, progresses textures intentionally and includes a different pairing every day.

The sequence is planned to introduce allergens clearly and gradually. If your baby has a known allergy or medical concern, contact us before ordering so we can advise what is possible.

That is normal. Weaning is exploration, not a clean-plate challenge. The kit gives repeated exposure to new tastes and textures so your baby can build confidence over time.

Please reach out before ordering. Standard requirements we can usually cater for include no dairy, no egg and halal, but we need to check your baby’s specific situation first.

We deliver using our own private fleet across London. Delivery timing depends on your address and route, and you will receive delivery information with your order.
